4) Living a Conscious Life

Some basic steps to bring Consciousness /Stillness/ Silence /Presence in one's life

1) Turn off the radio and TV and keep them off and perhaps stop reading the news as well.Avoid also surfing the web and chatting on net as much as possible .

2) Limit or cease your intake of alcohol, don't do any drugs, stop smoking and watch your diet by starting to eat lots of raw fruits and vegetables.

3) Practice some form of meditation, contemplation or silent yoga: every day as a discipline.

4) Get plenty of sleep, at least 7-8 hours per night of gentle, uninterrupted sleep.

5) Get in touch with nature: watch the sunrise or sunset, the clouds, the waves, listen to the birds.

6) Read some of the teachings of spiritual masters or teachers related to Non Duality / Consciousness like Ramana , Eckhart Tolle , Adyashanti , Nisargadatta Maharaj etc .For more details refer the links for Conscious living in this blog .

7) Accept the fact that the past, your past is gone, dead, caput, finished and has no control over you at all.

8) Forgive anyone and everyone who has hurt you in your life.

9) Seek out those you have hurt in life and ask their understanding and maybe their forgiveness but accept the fact that they might not offer you any kindness.

10) Accept the fact that "you" have absolutely no control over what the next moment or anything in the future will bring.

11) Accept the fact that NOW is the only reality: get in touch with what that really means.

12) Let go of everything you have ever learned, known or believed true, including your religious belief, your political affiliation, your social status and anything and everything that people, living and dead have told you about yourself. Instead find an answer to the question, "Who am I"? The sincere answer to that question is your freedom and the discovery of pure silence.

Peace: Now!

1)Living in the present moment

To be fully awake and enlightened simply means to be fully present in the moment of now. To be present is the simplest thing. It is your natural state.

Every moment, you have a choice. Will you be present in the truth and reality of this moment or will you allow yourself to be seduced into the world of the mind? All thoughts take you out of the present moment. And then if you believe in those thoughts, which most of us do, you get lost in the world of the mind.

For most of us, we have become so habituated to thinking, that now thoughts never end. They have a life of their own. We are not even choosing to think. Thinking is happening all by itself and we are simply pulled from one thought to another, never really experiencing the sacredness of this moment.

The present moment is free of memories of the past and imaginings into the future. And so the pain and limitations of the past magically disappear when you are present. Anxiety about the future also disappears. You are just here now, fully present in this moment. When you are fully present, your inner experience is one of peace, love, acceptance, power, truth and compassion. Separation and fear dissolve. You exist within Oneness.

When you bring yourself fully present, thoughts stop and your mind falls silent. But there is an even deeper level of silence waiting to emerge. As your mind becomes silent, an inner door is opened, allowing an infinite and eternal silence to emerge. This infinite and eternal silence is the very essence of your Being. It is your true nature. It is the essence of all existence. It is the eternal silent presence of pure consciousness. It is the "I AM" of you. It is that dimension of you that exists in Oneness with all that is. It is your Buddha nature. It is the Christ of you, which exists in Oneness with God. It is awakened man. It is awakened woman.
